Trailer sway can be a dangerous issue, it can be resolved by ensuring that the hitch bears 10-15% of the trailer's total weight. To achieve this, you may need to adjust the position of the car on the trailer so that it overhangs the front of the deck cross rail, or you may need to place the car on the trailer backwards.

It's important to note that installing a Rock Guard may make it difficult for the car to move forward over the front of the deck cross rail, which could exacerbate sway issues. Therefore, we do not recommend installing a Rock Guard to address trailer sway.

Instead, we suggest installing a weigh-safe drop hitch on the tow vehicle and adjusting the position of the car on the trailer, loaded forward or backward, until you see 5-10% of the trailer's gross laden weight (approximately 350-550 pounds) on the hitch.
