Futura Trailers is pleased to welcome the world-renowned Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles to its growing family of satisfied trailer users.
Founded in 1994 by magazine publisher Robert E. Petersen and his wife Margie, the Petersen Automotive Museum celebrates the entirety of automotive history, industry, culture and artistry in Los Angeles, the most car-centric city in the world.
Encompassing more than 300,000 square feet, its constantly evolving exhibits and interactive displays feature hundreds of rare and classic cars, trucks and motorcycles.
"People from all over the US donate dozens of valuable vehicles to us every year and it’s often up to us to make sure the vehicles make it to the museum safely,” said Lincoln Ramirez, Collection Development Manager at the Petersen Automotive Museum.
“We’ve been using a standard ramp trailer for years and it really hasn’t worked well for us. We now own a Futura enclosed Super Tourer and it’s fantastic. The first delivery in the Futura Super Tourer was of a beautiful classic XKSS Jaguar across 1,400 miles from Texas to Los Angeles."
And it's not just any Jaguar XKSS - This is Steve McQueen's 1956 Jaguar XKSS, of which only 16 were made. This XKSS was based off of the successful Le Mans-winning Jaguar D-type. Geared for over 150mph, this XKSS is still a race car for the road! Estimated to be valued at over $25,000,000 this is a truly special vehicle.
“We’re pleased that the Petersen Museum chose the Futura Super Tourer for their vehicle transport needs," said Damian Camp, CEO of Futura Trailers. “They join the family of thousands of happy Futura Trailers customers in the US and around the world.”
